FIFA has released the official squad lists for the 2026 World Cup, confirming 1,248 players across 48 nations. Mexico midfielder Gilberto Mora, at 17 years and 240 days, secured his place as the tournament’s youngest participant.
He stands in stark contrast to the oldest player, Scottish goalkeeper Craig Gordon, who will be 43 years old. The competition runs from June 11 to July 19 in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The opening match will feature Mexico against South Africa at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
