Mexico head coach Javier Aguirre confirmed that forward Germán Berterame will not be part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup roster. While praising Berterame's natural goal‑scoring gift, Aguirre cited form and tactical fit as reasons for his omission.
The final 26‑player squad was revealed in a video released on the night of May 31. Mexico will kick off the tournament on June 11 at the Ciudad de México Stadium.
