Alonso hit with grid penalty after Aston Martin changes

Fernando Alonso has been penalized during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend. Aston Martin opted to change the entire electrical package of his AMR26, including the battery and control unit.

These changes exceeded the season's allocation of spare components. Consequently, Alonso will start from the back of the grid.

The team prioritized preserving the car for the upcoming updates in Hungary.
