A tragic aviation accident occurred at Miami International Airport when an Amazon cargo aircraft overran the runway and burst into flames. The plane had arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico, before failing to stop within the designated runway boundaries.
According to local authorities, the impact involved multiple vehicles on the ground, causing severe damage and casualties. Miami-Dade officials confirmed during a press conference that at least five individuals lost their lives in the disaster.
Three additional people sustained critical injuries, while two others were transported to local hospitals with minor conditions. Emergency response teams, led by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Ray Jadallah, worked tirelessly for hours to control a dangerous fuel leak.
Rescuers faced immense challenges as several victims, along with the pilot and co-pilot, remained trapped inside the wreckage.
