Austria took the lead through Marko Arnautovic and Marcel Sabitzer, but Riyad Mahrez's second‑half stoppage‑time strike put Algeria ahead 3‑2 with a minute left. Sasa Kalajdzic headed the equaliser in added time, securing a 3‑3 draw and a World Cup knockout‑stage berth for both sides.
