Ball State Freshman Gavin Yates‑Lyons Killed in Tallahassee Shooting

Freshman defensive back Gavin Yates‑Lyons, 18, was fatally shot in a Tallahassee parking garage. He spent several days in critical condition before passing away on May 30.

The incident also left two other individuals injured. Ball State University mourned the loss, describing it as a devastating blow to the football program and campus community.
