Spain’s Carlos Arévalo won the European K1 200 canoe sprint in Montemor‑o‑Velho, Portugal, with a leading time of 34. 103 seconds, raising Spain’s championship medal tally to eight.
The result adds to Spain’s haul of three gold, four silver and one bronze medals so far. Arévalo, a double Olympic medalist, also claimed silver in the K4 500 at Tokyo 2020 and bronze at Paris 2024.
Portugal’s Moisés Baptista finished second, while Hungary’s Gergely Balogh took bronze. The Spanish squad also secured gold in the K4 500 and bronze in the C2 500, underscoring a strong overall performance.
