Carolina Hurricanes acquire John Carlson’s rights from Anaheim Ducks

Carolina Hurricanes are looking to bolster their defence with veteran John Carlson despite him not yet signing a contract. To that end, they acquired Carlson’s NHL rights from the Anaheim Ducks, gaining the ability to negotiate with the player.

In return, the Hurricanes sent future draft picks and a conditional selection to Anaheim. Carlson will become a free agent at the end of the season and can discuss a new deal.
