Coin-Throwing Scandal Targets Nahuel Guzmán as Toluca Win Concachampions Title

Toluca defeated UANL Tigres in a penalty shootout to claim their third CONCACAF Champions Cup title in a dramatic final. The match ended goalless through regulation and extra time before both teams found the net in the additional period.

A disturbing incident occurred prior to the penalty shootout when Tigres goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán was struck on the head by coins thrown by Toluca supporters in the stands at Estadio Nemesio Díez. Guzmán sustained a minor injury but was able to continue.

In the post-match press conference, Tigres manager Guido Pizarro addressed the goalkeeper's condition and condemned the attack. Pizarro emphasized that the aggression toward Guzmán was a violation of sportsmanship and the spirit of the game.
