José Hernández arrested at Atahualpa; Mushuc Runa wins 3‑2

José Hernández, the left‑back for Mushuc Runa, was arrested by the Ecuadorian National Police as he was warming up for the league match against Universidad Católica at Estadio Atahualpa. The detention stemmed from an alleged unpaid child‑support judgment.

Coach Paul Velez had to replace Hernández with Jeremy Cusme in the starting eleven. Despite the disruption, Mushuc Runa managed a 3‑2 away win.
