Judge Peinado on Vacation, Begoña Gómez's Passport Decision Pending

Spain's Supreme Court judge Juan Carlos Peinado is currently on vacation, leaving the passport application of Begoña Gómez pending. Gómez, the spouse of the Prime Minister, plans to travel to Ankara for a NATO summit and to attend her daughter's graduation.

The decision will be made by a substitute judge appointed to handle urgent matters. Approval of the passport could enable her participation in the diplomatic event.
