Leicestershire signs Ruan de Swardt to cover for Nick Kelly

South African all‑rounder Ruan de Swardt joins Leicestershire on a short‑term contract. With Nick Kelly away on international duty, the county needs a versatile bowler who can also contribute with the bat.

De Swardt arrived after a season in which he recorded over 500 runs and claimed 20 wickets in the domestic circuit. The club hopes his experience will stabilise the side during the mid‑season stretch.
