Malaga close to signing former defender Fernando Calero

Malaga are on the verge of completing their first signing of the 2026-27 season by reaching an agreement for center-back Fernando Calero. The defender, who left Espanyol after seven seasons, is set to return to the club on a free transfer to fill the gap left by Javi Montero.

Calero is known for his strong left foot and ability to play as a left-back, fitting perfectly into manager Juanfran Funes tactical system.
