Mariners Place J.P. Crawford on 10-Day IL with Wrist Inflammation

Seattle Mariners announced that third baseman J. P.

Crawford will miss the start of the series after being placed on the 10‑day injured list. The club cited left‑wrist inflammation as the reason for the move.

Crawford’s injury was confirmed before the Friday night opener against the Minnesota Twins. The Mariners will need to adjust their infield lineup and may call up a prospect from Triple‑A to fill the vacancy.

The 10‑day designation gives the team time to assess the severity of the inflammation and to begin a rehabilitation program. Fans can expect Crawford to return once his wrist has healed sufficiently, likely after the minimum stint on the IL.
