Juan Franco, mayor of La Línea de la Concepción, warned that the friendly scheduled for June 9 between Chile and the Democratic Republic of Congo will not receive authorization without clear Ebola safety guarantees. He has asked regional health authorities, the Andalusian health ministry, and the local hospital for a formal risk assessment.
If the required protocols are not provided by Monday, Franco said he will sign a decree this Tuesday to cancel the match. The municipality stresses public health protection while maintaining dialogue with both national federations.
