The automotive world witnesses a remarkable engineering transformation as Bentley introduces its latest high-performance vehicle under new leadership. Frank-Stephen Walliser, who transitioned from Porsche in 2024, brings crucial engineering expertise to shape this British luxury brand.
To create a significantly sportier machine, the development team focused heavily on increasing power efficiency and reducing overall vehicle mass. Consequently, the new Bentley Supersports stands as the lightest model produced by the manufacturer in the last eighty-five years.
Engineers achieved this milestone by removing the traditional four-wheel-drive system, which resulted in a massive drop in total weight. Furthermore, the standard aluminum roof was replaced with a lighter carbon fiber alternative to lower the center of gravity.
Inside the cabin, the removal of the rear seats, corresponding speakers, and complex wiring further trims unnecessary kilograms. This meticulous weight-saving approach enables the vehicle to drop below the two-thousand-kilogram threshold for the first time in its modern category.
