Racing Club Lausanne withdraws from Swiss futsal league over racism

Racing Club Lausanne has withdrawn all its futsal teams from the Swiss league in protest over racism and xenophobia incidents, citing the federation's lack of disciplinary action as the key trigger. The incident began during a match against Empire Futsal Club Ebikon in Lucerne on March 15, when spectators and players were subjected to verbal abuse.

The club emphasized that such behaviour undermines the integrity of sport and called on other teams to adopt the same stance. The Swiss Football Federation said it will investigate the matter and develop new policies to prevent similar occurrences.

Fans and civil‑rights groups hailed the move as a strong statement against racism in sport.
