Atlante head coach Miguel Herrera announced that former captain Rafael Márquez will take over as manager of Mexico's national side. Márquez, who captained Mexico in the 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups, holds the record for five tournament captaincies.
Herrera praised Márquez's tactical insight and leadership, saying they will bring a fresh direction to the squad. The new manager will guide the team through upcoming friendlies and the World Cup campaign.
