Following the conclusion of the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, national federation leaders reflected on the overall team performance. President Raul Chapado and head coach Jose Peiro shared their initial evaluations with the press.
The team matched past results by securing eight total medals and placing 29 athletes in finals. Despite these achievements, federation officials expressed clear dissatisfaction with the overall competitive outcome.
Chapado noted that while race walking performances provided bright highlights, overall consistency fell short of targets. The federation president emphasized that the team was far from achieving competitive perfection during this championship event.
Moving forward, technical staff and officials plan to review training protocols to elevate future international performances.
