He highlighted that Real Madrid followed a transparent process, with Florentino Pérez meeting the player’s agent, agreeing on terms, and then informing Atlético’s president Enrique Cerezo, which Gómez praised as the correct conduct.
In contrast, Gómez accused Barcelona and its president Joan Laporta of acting improperly, suggesting they tried to ‘storm’ Atlético’s house to secure the transfer.
