Rory McIlroy warns PGA Tour's two‑track model could devalue events

The PGA Tour is considering a two‑track format that would separate events into a primary series and a secondary 'Track Two' tier. Rory McIlroy expressed concern that this split could erode the status of established tournaments, especially if lower‑tier events lack sufficient sponsorship.

He warned that such tournaments might be perceived as merely 'glorified Korn Ferry' competitions, diminishing their historical significance. Tour CEO Brian Rolapp indicated that the details will be discussed with the Future Competition Committee and announced later this summer.
