The opening round of the LIV Golf tournament took place at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster. Sergio Garcia finished as the top performing Spanish golfer after completing his round at one under par.
Garcia recorded five birdies alongside two bogeys and a double bogey to take a share of tenth place. Tournament leader Joaquin Niemann established an early lead with an impressive round of 64 featuring seven birdies.
Ian Poulter and Lucas Herbert share second position after both players carded rounds of five under par. Fellow Spaniards Josele Ballester and David Puig finished even par with matching rounds of 71.
Jon Rahm ended his opening day at one over par after recovering from earlier setbacks with three consecutive birdies.
