Although conscious, Penyafort was unable to move and required immediate medical attention. Protocol dictated the arrival of a second ambulance, extending the stoppage to over 45 minutes, and Sánchez received a direct red card.
After being transported to a hospital, Penyafort's condition was reported as stable.
