Ruben Vargas secured the win from the spot to send Switzerland to their first World Cup quarter final since 1954. They will now face the defending champions, Argentina, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

The Swiss side entered the match without young midfielder Johan Manzambi due to a training injury.
