Unai Vencedor has officially ended his tenure with Athletic Club after reaching an agreement to rescind his contract. The 25-year-old midfielder still had one year remaining on his previous deal with the Basque club.
His departure follows a controversial summer during which he trained away from his teammates outside of Lezama and was left without a squad number. Following the termination of his contract, he quickly signed a one-year agreement with Burgos, with an option for an additional season.
Throughout his career at Athletic, Vencedor has experienced multiple loan spells, featuring in 82 official matches for the team. He previously spent time on loan at Eibar, Racing, and Levante, which served as his most recent destination before this permanent move.
The former Spain Under-21 international originally debuted in Spain's top flight under Gaizka Garitano and established himself under Marcelino. Both the player and the club ultimately decided to bring a close to this chapter as the transfer window concluded.
