Val Ackerman to Retire

Big East commissioner Val Ackerman has announced that she will retire from her position this summer. Ackerman has been in charge of the league for 13 years and has overseen eight national championships won by men's and women's basketball teams during her tenure.

Ackerman thanked everyone for their support and wished her successor well. A new commissioner is expected to be appointed after her retirement.
