Wayne Madsen retires as Derbyshire Falcons’ leading T20 run‑scorer

Wayne Madsen, the all‑time leading T20 run‑scorer for Derbyshire Falcons, announced his retirement midway through the 2026 season. Over 12 years he amassed more than 5,400 runs, setting a club record and mentoring emerging talent.

His departure will force the side to rethink its batting strategy for upcoming campaigns. Madsen thanked supporters before stepping away from the field.
