Yankees place Ryan McMahon on IL with throat infection

The New York Yankees have placed infielder Ryan McMahon on the 10-day injured list because of a throat infection. To fill the roster spot, the team recalled utility player Oswaldo Cabrera from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Cabrera is expected to provide depth in the infield.
