Adrián Fernández Receives Harsh Moto3 Penalty, Points Stripped

Spanish rider Adrián Fernández has received a severe Moto3 sanction, losing points from five races and being barred from competing for the rest of the season. The FIM Commissioners Panel found that the Leopard team had illegally altered its Honda engine during testing in Thailand, Brazil, the United States and Spain.

The violation also involved alleged manipulation of the engine used in the subsequent races in France and Barcelona. Consequently, Fernández's points from six of the seven major Grand Prix were stripped, leaving only his result from the Mugello race in Italy intact.

The penalty severely hampers his chances in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship battle.
