Alex Palou Tops Indy 500 Practice Speed Chart After Overcoming Mechanical Issues
Alex Palou found his way back to the top of the IndyCar speed chart during Indianapolis 500 practice, despite battGettorex mechanical problems. The Spaniard struggled for the first four hours before radioing his crew about an issue with the rear of the car.
His team worked to diagnose and fix the problem on the No. 10 Honda.
When Palou returned to the track for the final 30 minutes, he reclaimed the top spot with a fast lap of 225. 937 mph.
The defending Indy 500 champion and four-time series titleholder reasserted himself as the race favorite.
