Barcelona Regains Its Power in the Transfer Market
Barcelona completed the signing of Anthony Gordon for 70 million euros plus 10 million in add-ons and is also determined to bring in Atlético Madrid star Julián Alvarez, who would cost no less than 150 million euros. The Catalan club is once again competing head-to-head with Europe's elite in the transfer market.
Although Barcelona has not yet fully regained LaLiga's 1:1 financial fair play rule, it expects to do so before June 30. The regulation allows the club to spend on new registrations an amount equal to its income.
Barcelona's main challenge in recent years has been the high cost of its squad, which has now been significantly adjusted and contained.
