Ben McCollum receives immediate $1 million raise in new Iowa deal

Iowa men's basketball head coach Ben McCollum has received an immediate $1 million raise under a new six-year contract signed last week. McCollum inked the deal just over a month after leading Iowa to its first Elite Eight appearance in 39 years.

According to the contract, McCollum will earn $4. 35 million in the 2026-27 season, with annual raises of $100,000 through 2031-32.

His salary was $3. 35 million in 2025-26.

McCollum's bonus structure remains largely unchanged, with incentives tied to Big Ten regular-season or tournament titles, NCAA tournament qualification and advancement, player academic performance, and coaching honors.
