Boca Juniors Legend Antonio Rattín Passes Away at 89, Football Icon
Antonio Ubaldo Rattín, aged 89, has passed away. The Argentine defender began his career in Boca Juniors' youth system and spent 14 seasons with the senior side, tallying 382 appearances, 28 goals and winning five league titles plus the 1969 Copa Argentina.
He featured in the 1963 Copa Libertadores final against Pelé's Santos and captained the Argentine national team. Rattín's death on 11 July 2026 was met with heartfelt tributes from Boca supporters and the broader football community.
