Cam Ward Struggles in Tennessee Titans Preseason Opener

The Tennessee Titans entered the 2026 season with high expectations for their first-round quarterback, Cam Ward. Selected first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Ward was envisioned as the cornerstone of the franchise's future.

To support his development, the team invested heavily in the roster and brought in veteran offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. However, Ward's performance in the preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers was far from ideal.

Completing only 5 of 12 passes for 57 yards, the young quarterback appeared inaccurate and overwhelmed throughout his three drives. His movement within the pocket lacked composure, and several attempts to improvise nearly resulted in turnovers.

These struggles have sparked immediate concern regarding the team's offensive strategy. Fans and analysts are now questioning whether the Titans have a deeper problem to address before the regular season begins.
