Checo Perez's Cadillac caught fire during the second free practice session of the Monaco GP due to extreme brake demands at the Casino square. The Mexican driver was enjoying his best session of the year before the incident forced him to stop at an extinguisher point.

Perez had to quickly exit the car on a slope as flames engulfed the cockpit. The unique nature of the Monaco circuit, with its lack of high-speed cooling, contributed to the brake failure.

Despite the fire, Perez demonstrated strong pace on the street track throughout the day.
