China Great Green Wall Project Combats Desertification

China has spent nearly half a century building one of the world most ambitious environmental projects by creating a vast Great Green Wall. This massive ecological initiative is officially known as the Three North Protective Forest Program and aims to stop expanding deserts.

The ambitious undertaking officially began back in 1978 and is currently scheduled to continue steadfastly until 2050. By the anticipated completion date, the massive project is expected to encompass roughly 88 million acres of forest.
