Cruz Azul opened the second edition of the Copa Fundadores with a dominant 5-0 victory over Comunicaciones at Estadio Ciudad Cooperativa in Hidalgo. The hosts struck early, as a misplaced Comunicaciones clearance allowed Ebere to collect the ball inside the small box and fire home the opening goal in the first minute.

By halftime La Máquina had already piled up five goals, leaving no doubt about their intent. The win gives Joel Huiqui’s side strong momentum heading into the Apertura 2026 season.
