Dead and Injured in Paris PSG Victory Celebrations: Mayor Calls Incidents Historical
Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire described the unrest after PSG's Champions League win as a historical phenomenon. The Saturday celebrations left one person dead and two seriously injured.
Around 500 people were detained and nationwide 57 police officers and 219 participants were reported wounded. The mayor emphasized that the vast majority celebrated peacefully with family and friends, noting that isolated incidents have existed for centuries.
Authorities are still assessing the extent of material damage.
