Dillon Dingler exits Athletics game with hand injury during play
Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler, one of Detroit’s top defensive players, started the Wednesday night matchup against the Oakland Athletics. In the second inning he felt a sharp pain in his right hand after a collision and was forced to leave the field.
Team physicians ruled out a fracture but prescribed rest and monitoring. Athletics’ Nick Kurtz also exited the same inning due to illness.
