Duncan Powell faces new assault charge despite dismissal of domestic case

Although the domestic‑violence charge was dismissed, former Providence star Duncan Powell now faces a separate assault allegation stemming from a March incident. According to police, Powell threw a water bottle at a woman and later tracked her to another residence, threatening to use a gun.

The woman reported the threats, leading to Powell's arrest in Cranston. Powell, who finished his fifth year of eligibility, remains pending trial on the new charge.
