Elche Secures Gonzalo Villar Until 2029

Elche has officially signed midfielder Gonzalo Villar to a new contract running until June 2029. The club exercised the purchase option previously agreed with Dinamo Zagreb, securing the player for the long term.

In its statement, Elche highlighted Villar’s contribution of balance, insight and personality to the midfield during the decisive phase of last season. Since returning in January, the former 2020 winter‑transfer has become a stabilising presence in the centre of the park.

The extension underlines the club’s commitment to a sustained project.
