Elon Musk Addresses AI Mobile Phone Rumors
Elon Musk has addressed ongoing speculation regarding his potential entry into the mobile phone market with an artificial intelligence-powered device. Rumors of such a project first surfaced in 2025, but Musk clarified on a recent podcast appearance that no such manufacturing is currently underway.
He emphasized that he has no desire to launch a traditional mobile phone into the market. Instead, he envisions a device that functions very differently from current standards.
Musk described this future concept as a peripheral node for AI inference that utilizes wireless connections. In this model, artificial intelligence on a server would communicate with the device to generate real-time video and other complex data.
For now, he stated that production will not begin unless it becomes absolutely necessary for his broader technological goals.
