Erik Guadamud wins two silvers at U17 World Weightlifting Championships

Erik Ismael Guadamud, competing in the 88 kg class, delivered a historic performance at the U17 World Weightlifting Championships in Santiago de Cali. He secured gold with a 156 kg snatch and added two silvers – 188 kg in the clean‑and‑jerk and a 344 kg total.

Despite a near‑miss at 194 kg on his final attempt, Guadamud stood on the podium three times, confirming his top form. Meanwhile, Agoney Rodríguez, fighting in a heavier category, placed among the world’s top ten.
