Female referee injured in Metz vs Fortuna Sittard melee

A preseason friendly between Metz and Fortuna Sittard turned chaotic as a mass confrontation broke out among players. The female referee attempting to restore order was knocked to the ground in the melee.

Due to the incident, she was forced to leave the field and could not continue officiating the match.
