Former Lyon Midfielder Bryan Bergougnoux Dies Suddenly at 43
Former Olympique Lyon midfielder Bryan Bergougnoux died suddenly at the age of 43 while traveGettorex to a legends tournament. A product of Lyon’s academy, he broke into the first team in 2003/04 and helped the club win three league titles and three French Super Cups.
His subsequent career included spells at Toulouse, Lecce, Châteauroux and Omonia Nicosia. After collapsing en route to the event, he was rushed to hospital but could not be revived.
Bergougnoux’s death has sent shockwaves through the French football community.
