Lewandowski's Chicago Fire debut postponed due to Canadian wildfire smoke
Robert Lewandowski’s much‑anticipated debut for Chicago Fire against Vancouver Whitecaps was postponed due to thick smoke from Canadian wildfires. The match, slated for Soldier Field in Chicago with an expected 40,000 spectators, was called off because of hazardous air quality.
Lewandowski’s first appearance also promised a reunion with former Bayern teammate Thomas Müller. The game has been rescheduled for October 6.
