Mateo Chavez Named MVP in Mexico Victory Over Czech Republic

Mexico defeated Czechia 3-0 at Estadio Ciudad de Mexico to finish the 2026 World Cup group stage with 9 points. Coach Javier Aguirre was rewarded for starting young player Mateo Chavez in place of Jesus Gallardo as he delivered a stellar performance.

With goals from Chavez Quinones and Fidalgo the Tri displayed one of the best group stage performances in their history.
