Mbappé and Yamal Top EU Trademark Registrations Ahead of World Cup
French star Kylian Mbappé and young Spanish talent Lamine Yamal have emerged as the most trademark‑registered players in the European Union ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Mbappé holds 15 separate registrations, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, including a trademark on a famous phrase.
Yamal, despite his youth, has secured multiple registrations protecting his name and image. All applications were examined by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante.
The trend highlights how a footballer’s commercial value can grow independently of on‑field performance.
