McDonald's All American Darius Bivins commits to Saint Mary's

McDonald's All American Darius Bivins has committed to Saint Mary's, announcing his decision on Monday. Bivins, a top-50 recruit in the SC Next 100, chose the Gaels after visiting the school earlier this month.

He becomes the first McDonald's All American in program history and represents an early statement signing for first-year head coach Mickey McConnell. Bivins cited the opportunity to play a major role right away, the transparency of the coaching staff, and the brotherhood vibe within the team as key factors in his decision.

He also praised McConnell's plan to utilize him both on and off the ball, noting that the head coach played the same position during his own playing days at Saint Mary's.
