Mercedes grants Antonelli and Russell free rein to race after Canada incidents

Mercedes‑AMG Petronas gave Kimi Antonelli and George Russell the green light to race freely after two near‑miss incidents in the Canadian Grand Prix. The 19‑year‑old Antonelli remarked that it would be impossible to put a ‘leash’ on the two title contenders.

The team believes unrestricted competition between the drivers will intensify the championship battle. The incident signals a potentially tighter fight for the title in the remaining races.

Mercedes will continue to provide technical and strategic support to maximise both drivers’ performance.
